Well we all know that you have to run premium in a GSX which sucks a**...
Well my question/concern is that i was a few bucks short so i put super in my tank. Now its like its running on 3 injectors its sputters and takes a while to raise RPM. You think cuz i put the wrong gas it messed me up.
Fuel mods:
255 walboro
560cc injectors.... _________________ 2003 Eclipse GS

It all depends how your driving,
You can run regular or mid fine as long as you stay out of boost. Its pretty hard to do on small turbos but for bigger ones its pretty easy.
But then again im not saying its ok to "always' run anything less than 93.. just saying that its ok for those "few" times _________________ *Bad Bish* |

hmmm... for 1st gear i have to be in boost cuz i lost 2nd ha. first to third aint fun
I was on empty and put in 5 bucks of super just to get me to sonic and back home. It was running fine for a few miles then started sputtering all of a sudden. Idk maybe smething got loose and i dont know about it or could be as simple as the gas. _________________ 2003 Eclipse GS

It is also possible that the gas you got had debris in it and could be clogging your injector. If you have a logger then you can find the injector that is not firing correct and clean it. _________________ A drunken mans words are a sober mans thoughts |

i found out the problem. I took a look at the plugs to see if they where fouled...Nope.
Checked firing order just to double check...Nope all good, BUT the wire was rubbing on the cam belt and it rubbed it all the way down to the inner wire. The wire was arcing so i shut it off put alot electrical tape on it. Then i turned it on and idles fine now.
Footnote: Plug wire was showing inner wire, tapped it up and works good now. _________________ 2003 Eclipse GS

i wouldnt do that too long, once you hit boost your taking a chance of getting knock which will kill your engine faster than crack!
higher octane helps prevent knock which is why all boost cars require "Premium Only" _________________ *Bad Bish* |
